Application for SEG Approval Reference Number

The declaration statements incorporated within this application form are required to ensure the customer is aware of their legal obligations and FiT eligibility requirements under the current legislation, with particular reference to Section 36AE of the Electricity Act.

This form also assists SA Power Networks in confirming a customer’s eligibility for FiT and must be completed as part of the application process.
Failure to complete this form means the SEG connection approval application is incomplete and will not be accepted.

Please select the correct application type:

This application type is for an approval request for a new Small Embedded Generation (SEG) system that will be connected to an existing electrical installation/network connection point, (e.g. SEG to be connected to an existing home or building) This application type is for an approval request for a new Small Embedded Generation (SEG) system where no network connection point currently exists, (e.g. SEG to be connected to a new house that is being constructed). This application type is for approval requests where the generation capacity of an existing Small Embedded Generation (SEG) system is to be increased from that previously approved by SA Power Networks, or the existing system is to be relocated to a new meter connection point.

What is the intended dominant purpose for the installation of this SEG?

If a generator is, on or after 1 October 2011, altered in a manner that increases the capacity of the generator to generate electricity or disconnected and moved to another site, the FiT rebate will cease from the date of the alteration or disconnection.

SA Power Networks will assume that the date of submission of this application is the date of the alteration or disconnection as stipulated in the Act and the payment of any applicable feed-in rebate credits will cease from this date.

The Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme for electricity generated is only available for one qualifying generator for each qualifying customer. (Further generators may still be connected to the distribution network, but will not be eligible for the FiT scheme).

This has been explained to the customer

SA Power Networks’ approval to connect an SEG is based on the information and details provided in this application and strictly relates to the technical compliance and suitability of the proposed equipment to be connected to the Distribution Network. Where permission to connect an SEG relates to an existing supply, it is only given in relation to the nominated connection point as defined by the NMI displayed above. Where permission to connect relates to a new supply, it is given in relation to the nominated installation address until a connection point and a NMI have been provided at which time this approval is only valid in relation to that connection point.

This Approval is not transferrable and is only given in relation to the nominated inverter type and the SEG type rated to the maximum kW peak capacity stated in this application. The installation of any equipment, other than what has been approved, will automatically invalidate this approval and the applicant will be required to reapply for approval prior to connecting the SEG system to our Distribution Network.

SA Power Networks’ approval does not imply in any way that the applicant will be eligible to receive a PV Feed-in credit or other subsidies from other Government sponsored schemes that may be applicable from time to time.

The applicant is responsible for the accuracy and correctness of the information provided in this application. SA Power Networks does not take any responsibility for the accuracy of any information provided in this application, nor does our approval acknowledge or accept the correctness of the information that has been provided. All of the information is used by SA Power Networks to determine an applicant’s eligibility for credits under the existing solar (PV) feed-in scheme. Any information found to be incorrect in any way in the future will invalidate this approval and will affect an applicants’ eligibility status for feed-in credits under the current scheme.
